Professional Bull Rider Mason Lowe Dies at PBR in Colorado

Mason Lowe dies after sustaining injuries at a PBR Velocity event in Denver, Colorado January 15, 2019. According to PBR.com Lowe passed away at Denver Health as a result of injuries sustained when a bull stepped on his chest at the Denver Coliseum at the National Western Complex.

Mason was 25 years old. He is survived by his wife, Abbey, and additional family (details are being updated soon.)




Mason had a very successful career in the PBR where he was in 18th place in the world when this tragic accident took place.

According to the PBR website, Mason shared the following statement the night before his accident.

"We are in the same deal,” Lowe said. “It is in our heads. If we keep trying to stay positive together and start staying on it will click. Not that we don’t think about it, but there is no point in talking about the bad stuff together. You have to talk about the good stuff.”

Wing added, “I enjoy going with Mason. We both will figure it out. We will get the kinks out. We will be there.”

Wednesday night of competition included a very emotional video tribute dedicated to Lowe. Cody Nance won the round that night and dedicated to Mason.

National Western Stock Show, a 501C3 non-profit entity, in conjuction with PBR, did an in the arena fundraiser for the Lowe family, during the event. Donations can also be made on line here.
