March 24,2020
Please find a letter from WCRA President Bobby Mote in regards to the Stampede at The E below:

Dear Rodeo Community,
In light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and the most recent regulations and recommendations from the CDC, the World Champions Rodeo Alliance has announced the cancelation of all events and functions associated with the May 12-16 Stampede at The E in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
We took this action for the health and safety of our athletes, and their families, our staff, contractors, fans, and the entirety of the rodeo community as we engage in the ever-so-important social distancing measures to limit the spread of the virus.
Segment five nominations have been suspended. In the coming days, the WCRA will be refunding all athletes for these nomination fees.
We realize that these unprecedented times are tough and while we are saddened to make this announcement, we’re pleased to continue nominations for segment six –$1.25 Million Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo, scheduled for July 21-25 in Salt Lake City.
The WCRA asks that everyone continue to practice healthy habits as outlined by the CDC. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our athletes, fans and the rodeo community as we face this unprecedented situation together.
From all of us at the WCRA, be safe and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
